New Painless Dental Procedure is Making Waves
Dentists in Britain have recently publicized a new treatment they are dubbing EAER (Electrically Assisted Enhanced Remineralisation). This procedure allows dentists to repair mild tooth decay before it becomes a deeper cavity rather than waiting and having to put in a filling or other dental device once it becomes bad enough.
EAER involves cleaning the tooth, flushing it with minerals, and then stimulating it with an electric pulse. The pulse pushes the minerals into the deepest part of the tooth and speeds up a naturally occurring remineralization.
This process, along with regular dental hygiene of flossing and brushing, can help prevent cavities from maturing and requiring drilling and other more costly and sometimes painful procedures.
